Stede Broec exudes the atmosphere of West Friesland. Along the historic village streets of Bovenkarspel, Grootebroek and Lutjebroek, you can sense the history of the ancient countryside behind the dykes. Old farmhouses, characteristic village streets and green farmyards tell the story of generations who lived and worked here. The landscape is open and expansive, with the West Frisian Omringdijk serving as a silent witness to centuries of struggle against the water.
