GP Groot Egmond-Pier-Egmond 2027 (26e editie)

The most famous beach race in the country: 38 kilometres of mountain biking across the beach, through the dunes and past obstacles and climbs. Top riders and recreational cyclists start together in one large field. There is also a gravel category and a separate youth beach race. Sand, wind and cold make it a real challenge.

A classic on the beach

Every year, approximately 3,500 cyclists are at the start of this beach race. The 38-kilometre course goes along the beach to the pier at the entrance of the Noordzeekanaal and back again. Along the way, you ride through the dunes, over obstacles and up steep climbs. The wind determines whether it will be a fast or a tough race.

For whom

Recreational cyclists, gravel riders and license holders ride together. There are separate classifications for company teams, members and for those who are also running the half marathon the following day. Children can participate in the youth beach race.

What is included

You receive a handlebar number plate with a chip, live tracking via the app, aid stations along the way and at the finish, medical care and a bicycle wash area. A medal is optional. The event supports the rescue services at sea and on the beach.
