Go night walking during the Night of the Night! Experience darkness, the starry sky, and nature throughout the Netherlands.

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, the time has come: the 11-Beach Tour. Four distances take you along quintessential Dutch beaches. The ultimate challenge for walkers, joggers, and runners. Do you dare take it on?

An organised walking tour with five distances, from a short circuit to a sturdy 25-kilometre trek. The longer routes head towards a historic Zuiderzee town and return through a large regional forest. You will receive the route, a map and a GPX file in advance, so that you can also walk at your own pace.

A mountain bike race on the beach, where riders take on sand, wind and sea. With a single distance of 42 kilometres, this is a tough sporting challenge for mountain bikers who love rugged conditions. It is also a spectacular sight for spectators on the coast.

A trail and walking event through a large dune area on the coast, across the beach, dunes, past lakes and through forest. Runners can choose from distances of 7 to 60 kilometres, walkers from 11 or 23 kilometres. There is also a kids trail. The routes are almost entirely unpaved and well-marked.

An evening walk in the dark past light artworks, light beacons and surprising acts. This edition is themed around a trip around the world. You can choose from 6, 12, 16 or 20 kilometres. You will walk the last kilometres along the beach back to the finish. An atmospheric walk for young and old.

The most famous beach race in the country: 38 kilometres of mountain biking across the beach, through the dunes and past obstacles and climbs. Top riders and recreational cyclists start together in one large field. There is also a gravel category and a separate youth beach race. Sand, wind and cold make it a real challenge.

Start the cycling season with a unique beginning: a 4-kilometre lap on a real Formula 1 circuit. Afterwards, you cycle into the dunes and through the beautiful surroundings on the coast. You can choose from 40, 80 or 120 kilometres. The routes are signposted and there are aid stations along the way.

A spring cycling tour past blooming bulb fields, green polders, traditional farmhouse barns and characteristic villages. You can choose from 85, 110, 160 or 250 kilometres and start from one of three starting locations. One of the oldest tours organised by the organisation and popular with recreational and sporty cyclists.

The most famous catamaran race in the country: hundreds of catamarans sail around a Wadden Island as fast as possible in one day. Amateurs and international top sailors sail together. For spectators, the mass start from the beach is a spectacular sight. Around the race, there is a festival with music and other water sports.

A summer bike ride over and along an age-old dike that once protected people and animals from the salt water. You choose from 50, 80 or 135 kilometres and cycle part or all of the dike. Along the way, there are culinary and cultural stops. A beautiful start to the cycling summer.
