Muiderslot
Muiden is best known for the historic Muiderslot Castle, home to the Rijksmuseum, and the legacy of Floris V and P.C. Hooft. Special events are regularly organised in and around the castle, such as dinner in the castle gardens or tastings hosted by the castle chef.
Pampus Fortress Island
Pampus Fortress Island is also a perfect destination for a day out, for young and old alike. The island offers many interactive experiences that bring history to life, including a virtual hot-air balloon ride over the Defence Line of Amsterdam.
Cycling & walking
Walk the Experience Route along the ramparts of Muiden or hop on a bike and explore the area via the Fortenland Route. Along the way, you’ll pass through the landscape of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Dutch Waterlines, full of forts, dykes and locks. Muiden isn’t large, but it has a great deal to offer for lovers of history, culture and heritage.
