The Vuurlijnpad from Aalsmeer is a challenging loop starting from the Westeinderplassen via the Vuurlijn. This earthen dike was part of the Stelling van Amsterdam, the defensive line around the capital.
The dike lay behind the forward forts at Kudelstaart and De Kwakel. Now it is a 4 km long green walking ribbon. In the Legmeerpolder, you will see greenhouses and trendy neo-1930s new-builds. On the Hogedijk, you get an idea of the polder of yesteryear.
During this route, you cycle around the Westeinderplassen, a beautiful peat and lake area.
