The route takes you along the Hoevervaart to the beautiful Wimmenummerpolder. The village of Wimmenum already existed in the tenth century. You also pass the former Carmelite monastery on the Herenweg in Egmond aan den Hoef.
Texel has mapped out a 6-kilometer walking route that allows you to enjoy the landscape to the fullest. Dogs are welcome on this route, provided they are kept on a leash.
Bring plenty of food and drink, as there are few facilities. During the breeding season (spring), parts of the beach may be cordoned off.
