Enjoy a lovely paddle in Het Twiske along the yellow route. Discover the beautiful watery spots in this magnificent recreational area.
You can recognize the route by the yellow wooden posts. Sail through the fields of Het Twiske, home to special flora and fauna, as it is a Natura 2000 area. You can, for example, moor briefly at the bird observation post. This route goes through meadows, and you will notice this, as you will soon find yourself face to face with grazing Scottish Highland cattle. From the water, you get very close to the animals hidden in the reeds. Be calm and quiet, listen carefully, and you will see special birds and other animal species.
Don't have your own canoe? No problem, you can rent canoes (single-person canoes, Canadian canoes) at Twiske Haven. It is good to know that Het Twiske has two canoe portage points. These are located on the west side, south of the Etensroer entrance, and on the east side near the Marsenweg.
