It is amazing to explore this breathtaking landscape from the water via the Twiske Vaarroute (16 km). This route is recognizable by the red posts along the waterfront. This varied canoe route takes you through the Oostzanerveld and the Het Twiske recreation area in approximately 6.5 hours. Would you prefer a shorter trip? The route can easily be shortened!
For those without their own canoe or kayak, Twiske Haven is the perfect starting point. They rent out various canoes and kayaks here, and from the jetty, you can paddle via Het Twiske straight into the surprising world of the Oostzanerveld. On the vast grasslands, cows, sheep, and horses stand peacefully enjoying the fresh grass and the warm spring sunshine. Curious as they are, they love to come and take a look at the waterside.
