The eighteenth edition of the Saxo Dam tot Dam FietsClassic will take place on Sunday, September 20, 2026. This iconic cycling event connects the heart of Amsterdam with Zaandam and annually attracts thousands of cyclists from across the country. Whether you are a recreational cyclist participating for the first time or an experienced road racer looking for a serious challenge – with six distances, there is a route tailored to everyone.
The route: cycle through the IJ Tunnel
The start is at Dam Square in Amsterdam, right in the heart of the city. From here, you will be the very first to cycle through the famous IJ Tunnel – completely car-free and opened especially for participants. This is a unique experience that is only possible once a year. Afterwards, the route takes you past the beautiful polder areas and characteristic villages of North Holland, before you finish in Zaandam or return to Amsterdam.
Ladies Ride – new in 2026!
This year, the Saxo Dam tot Dam FietsClassic is introducing the Ladies Ride for the first time: a special joint start exclusively for women. Riding together, experiencing together, and enjoying this unique cycling day together. Participation in the Ladies Ride is possible in combination with the 40 km or 60 km. Participants gather at the Dam, after which the Ladies Ride will start together approximately 15 minutes after the opening of the starting area.
