Names such as Schagerwaard, Koetenmeer, and Woudmeer serve as reminders of these drained waters. The large Lake of Dirkshorn, west of the village, is still present and offers opportunities for recreation such as fishing, surfing, and canoeing. The Veersloot and a canoe pond are also available.
