The Rondom Watergang Route is a varied cycling tour around the old "boating village" of Watergang, through the Ilperveld, Het Twiske, and along the Gouwzee.
From the water-rich Twiske, you drive past the Ilperveld nature reserve, enjoy the view over the Gouwzee, and finally cycle through the beautiful peat meadow areas of Waterland-Oost, passing through old and characteristic villages. Don't forget to stop in beautiful Monnickendam. This town on the former Zuiderzee is known for its traditional houses.
Are you feeling hungry along the way? Then take a break, because there are plenty of benches and picnic tables waiting for you along the route. In Monnickendam, you will find plenty of restaurants and outdoor cafes.
Tip: Turn it into an overnight or weekend getaway and add an overnight stay to your bike tour. There are many nice and unique places to stay in the area around Het Twiske and in Waterland.
